Forbidden City
Caught this on Saturday. The seats were damn shiok... On a Cat 2 somemore. We were seated on the 1st row of the theatre. i could even check out Kit Chan total facial features. woohooo... I must say that storywise, it made Empress CiXi have a humane side. Wonder how many people agree to this? I guess if you are the kind who believe all human are good, it's much more believable. Sets wise, actually very simple. A very huge backdrop which doubled up as everything and anything. Effect with the cloth and without it was pretty good. Quite smart i must say, but abit boring after a little while. As i was expecting some changes. I loved the book props though. I'm just a person crazy over miniatures/huge dummies of products or things. haha.. i used to make small books for my toys to read when i was younger... :D
Casts were not too bad. Kit Chan, the older empress cixi, "Karl", the emperor's brother, hossan leong, sebastian stood out more. Kit was really projecting her voice. A little too visible to me since there was nothing between my line of vision and the casts.
All in all, i say the show was good. And i definitely would try for these seats or a few rows back if i catch a musical again. Shiok is a "kending" :)
