Detox

Detox, short of detoxification is a process to remove toxins and contaminants from the body. There are a few ways to detox: Fasting (Water / Juice Fasting), Herbal detox, calorie restriction etc. Our liver, kidney, skin and lungs are constantly contaminated by negative external factors and must be removed regularly.

Being the health conscious me and now that i'm in a cosmetics industry, it's interesting for me to learn more about such methods to detox the skin and the body. I'm currently in day 2 of my detox programme. This round is so much better than the one i did last month where i almost chewed up pitt's arm thinking it was chicken wing :p I guess i'm more prepared this round. As usual , i sleeep.

I'm undergoing a juice fasting programme topped up with supplements. Being available only in digestible carbohydrates, these foods are digested rapidly as the juice digestion process uses only a small amount of energy.This method anchors on the fact that less energy is expended in the use of digestion of foods and used in the removal of toxins. Side effects 1) Too much acidity 2) Lack of proteins. However, since i'm topping this programme with supplements and proteins, i'm feel i'm in safe hands.

We'll see how this round goes. I may be prepared to go up to 7 days. The last round of 2 days detox i did benefitted my skin. How about this? I may want to try out another method later quarter of the yr for the launch of a new brand. Till then!
