Marriage

Marriage, a union of 2 people in love and have decided to make a lifetime commitment to cherish and hold the other, in sickness and in health, for good and for the worse. How sacred.

M. WILT thou have this Woman to thy wedded Wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour, and keep her in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?

The Man shall answer, Yes I do

Then shall the Priest say unto the Woman,

N. WILT thou have this Man to thy wedded Husband, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou obey him, and serve him, love, honour, and keep him in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live?

The Woman shall answer, Sure I do! (Cynthia's version :p)

Everytime i hear the vow, my hair stands. Though it's a very simply "Yes, i do". The weight of these 3 words go far beyond "i love you". It's a union and a lifetime commitment to the other and only to one person. Matrimony.

Attended Cynthia's, a good friend's wedding yesterday. Heartened that this PR queen with heaps of friends invited me to be her jie mei, selected me for congratulatory speech (wonder how i got the courage and thank goodness i din cry :p), and very happy to share her joy though i was super shagged out after a week of madness working (clearing of work before i fly tonite), hen's party (what happened in hen's party, stays in hen's party :p) & the wedding (yesterday). What a week. But a totally worthwhile week.

It was a very fairy tale wedding. Vintage car, balloons, surprises from relatives. Soleminsation was done on the wedding day. And most importantly, there was happiness. Everybody was really happy for them, people on the roads, relatives, close relatives, colleagues, friends, close friends and most importantly the 2 of them are very happy too. I personally am too, being her friend for 9 years, knowing her, and seeing the special person she is and the things she has been through. You thanked us for sharing with you your joy, i thank you for letting me share your joy. :)
