The Gen Ys
Whoever said the gen ys are a protected group who have not yet seen the world?
We have seen chicken flu, mad cow diseases, SARS. Much less to say, melanine tainted milk. As the finance and banking sector goes through it's turmoil, wierd diseases spread through the world. Immunity systems get weaker, flu strains get stronger.
The earth is in rage too. Hurricane Katrina, global warming, the ozone layer thins and now has a gaping hole. Tsunami strikes in anger hitting several countries at a go.
Despite the earth raging itz anger, human are angry too. Terrorists attacks US and threatens the world. As Isralis and palestines are thrashing out differences, the SEA does not look like it's very peaceful either.
Since the great depression in 1930, the 2008-2009 financialturmoil is touted to be equivalent. Global economy goes into recession and threatens to go into depression. Huge banks who have seen their heydays are forced to bankruptcy. Buyouts, bailouts, banks get nationalised. We still don't know when this will end. When will the end of the tunnel be?
The only beacon of light i see now is the electing of an African-American President in US. It seems that there's some form of unity in this huge mess. Where pple no longer vote by colour. Obama, wishing you all the best and will be looking forward to how you will address the mess in US. Will be watching your inauguration tonight. Gambatte!
